How does Thermography work?
The autonomic nervous system, which controls automatic body functions, determines circulation to internal organs as well as the skin. It does this by altering the amount of dilation and constriction in blood vessels. Environmental temperature impacts the autonomic nervous system and, therefore, affects blood flow. By measuring the temperature of 112 different points on the skin before and after a cold stimulus, we can monitor changes in circulation. The actual temperature, as well as how it changes in response to the cold stimulus, provides information about the function of organs and tissues that correspond to the points being measured.  (Back to Top)

What will the thermography test be like?
After adapting to room temperature, the first set of measurements is taken. A ten-minute cooling phase follows before measuring the points a second time. After the results are interpreted, they will be explained during a follow-up appointment with your medical doctor. Treatment will be based on the test's results, the patient's specific situation, and the doctor's assessment.  (Back to Top)

Why is Thermography important for you?
Regulation thermography is effective in the early detection of many physical imbalances and diseases. Often times symptoms are affected by areas of the body that may not at first seem directly related. Thermography can help determine what additional lab work; if any; may be needed to determine the source of ill health; and can help avoid many unnecessary, expensive lab tests.

What should I do to Prepare for your thermogram?

  1. Do not shower, exercise, or engage in any activities that will increase your blood pressure.
  2. Eat a light breakfast. Do not drink coffee, including decaf, or any caffeinated beverages, like Coke or Pepsi. Herbal and green teas are okay.
  3.  Please do not smoke or drink alcohol for a minimum of 24 hours before your appointment.
  4. Take only medications that you take regularly. Your physician can give you further information.
  5. Wear comfortable clothing that covers your arms and legs to your appointment, make sure to wear socks. A lose button-down shirt is great.
  6. Please do not wear tight clothing, including belts. Anything that leaves a red mark when you remove it is too tight.
  7. Do not use any creams, lotions, or make-up on your skin. Men should avoid shaving on the morning of their appointment.
  8. Avoid confrontation or emotional stress on the day of your thermogram.
  9. For best results, please schedule appointment before or after your period.  (Back to Top)

What can be determined by Thermography?
CRT can discover possible sources of chronic disease and infections. Breast, ovarian, and prostate health can also be assessed. Possible cardiovascular, stomach, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder problems can be detected using the CRT. Unknown causes of infection and inflammation, allergic or toxic reactions to food, the presence of intestinal mycosis or dysbiosis, and possible correlations between dental health and disease can all be determined using CRT. Your overall vitality can be estimated by CRT.

Why is Thermography helpful?
In chronic disease, there are often factors that block successful treatment. These include:

Thermography allows you to see if and where these imbalances are in your body. Remember that no illness occurs in isolation, by itself. There are always patterns of dysfunction. These eventually lead to symptoms of illness, often after years of dysfunction. It is these patterns of dysfunction that the holistic practitioner attempts to define to provide guidance in a successful treatment program.

True healing requires a change in lifestyle. Many of the imbalances in function that are seen on a thermogram are due to lifestyle imbalances over many years. With thermography, we can identify the patterns of illness that these lifestyle imbalances have impressed upon the system. Then, treatment can be better guided towards a successful direction.  (Back to Top)

Why Should I choose Thermography over Mamography?
A major asset of regulation thermography is in the area of early detection and confirmation of breast cancers. In a German study, 54% of breast cancer patients were correctly diagnosed by history and physical examination. The number rose to 76% when mammography was added. However, when computerized regulation thermography was used, the accuracy of diagnosis rose to 92%. Many women today are concerned about the effects of accumulated radiation that is associated with routine mammograms. That concern is addressed with thermography, and ultrasound when necessary. Mammography can still be a good diagnostic tool, but with thermography, we do not have to rely nearly as much on mammography.  (Back to Top)

What are breast cancer symptoms?
For women receiving annual mammograms, breast cancer is often detected in an early, localized state before it can be felt by a woman or by her health care professional. All women, especially women without access to regular mammograms, should regularly conduct breast self-exams and clinical breast exams to identify changes within breast tissue.  (Back to Top)

The most common sign of breast cancer is a new lump or mass in the breast tissue. During your self-exam look for the following physical changes that are associated with the development and spread of breast cancer:

Changes in the breast are most commonly due to benign conditions and usually are not signs of breast cancer. However, if you experience any of the above symptoms, contact your health care professional immediately.
