What is a Doula?

A Death Doula is a person who supports a person in the end of life process, much like a midwife or doula with the birthing process. They help families cope with death through recognizing it as a natural and important part of life. They can provide emotional, spiritual, and practical support - or all of the above. Doula work compliments hospice.
